museum of the city of skopje

I hope you all remember the old railway station of Skopje that I mentioned some time in September, which has a museum inside. Finally, I visited the museum some time ago. It was actually better than I expected. It is simple, non-fancy, but interesting. The museum's permanent exhibition covers Skopje from pre-historic times until the modern day. There are like old coins, glasses, plates, accessories and tools from Roman days, which are quite impressive. If you are here, it is nice to stop by after shopping at the Ramstore. It is free and it is located next to the Ramstore.

マケドニアに来たばっかりの9月頃に地震で崩壊した旧スコピエ駅の中が博物館になっていることを書いたことがありますが、先日、ようやく中を訪れる機会がありました。実はいまいちシャビーだと聞いていたのでなかなか行く気がしなかったのですが、なかなかどうして、行ってみるとけっこう面白かったです。展示品は、スコピエ近辺の遺跡などから発掘された古いローマ時代のコインやら、グラスやら、皿やら、アクセサリーやら道具やら、昔のものから近代までのいろいろなものが時系列に並べられていて、最後には民族衣装とかも登場。なかなか「ふーん」と思わされるものでした。スコピエ滞在時にはちょっと寄って見られることをお勧めします。入場料、タダでした。ラムストアの隣ですので買い物ついでにでも。
