ohrid pearl

This is the famous Ohrid pearl craft, created from scales of the little fish "Plasica", an inhabitant of the Ohrid lake. I do not know how it is made, but it does not look like something made from the fish scales. It has really a pearly shine. It is said that only two Ohrid families, which carried over this tradition to three generations, can make this craft. Very nice gift. Thank you, my friend.

これが有名なオフリドパール。オフリド湖に住むプラシツァという魚のウロコから作る伝統工芸品。どうやって作るのか分からないけど、とても魚のウロコから作ったものには見えないんだなあ。ほんとに真珠みたいな感じなの。この工芸品はオフリドのある二家族のみが作り方を知っていて代々引き継いで作っているものだそう。ナイスなプレゼントですな。ありがとう。
